FAQ

How do I connect to Wialon?

Two ways: use Sign in with Wialon to authorize on Wialon's own page (your password is never shared with FleetTAB), or paste a 72-character API token you generate in Wialon. Both are managed under Settings → Wialon Connection.

See Connecting to Wialon for a full overview, or go directly to Wialon API Token for step-by-step token instructions.

Can I use FleetTAB on mobile?

Yes. FleetTAB is designed to work well on mobile devices, not just on desktop. The interface adapts to smaller screens, and the most commonly used views — trip lists, unit status, driver assignments — are optimized for one-handed use on a phone.

The KPI Dashboard is accessible on mobile but is primarily designed for desktop use, where a larger screen makes the grid layout more practical.

tip

For the best mobile experience, add FleetTAB to your home screen using your browser's "Add to Home Screen" option. This gives you a full-screen app-like experience without the browser navigation bar.

What is the difference between business and personal trips?

When reviewing trip history, each trip can be classified as either business or personal. This classification is used for reporting and compliance purposes — for example, separating reimbursable business mileage from personal use.

Classification can be set manually on individual trips, or in bulk from the Trips page. Trips that have not been classified appear as unclassified until reviewed. You can also define your own custom trip types beyond business and personal.

info

Trip classification is saved back to Wialon (on the trip's event data), so it is shared with anyone who has access to that unit — not just your browser. Custom trip type definitions are stored on your selected Wialon resource so your whole team shares the same types.

How do I export data?

FleetTAB provides export options on several pages:

  • Trips table: Use the Export button above the table to download trip data as CSV or PDF.
  • KPI Dashboard: Use the Export PDF button in the dashboard toolbar to generate a PDF snapshot of the current layout.
  • Reports: The Reports section can be exported as PDF or CSV.

All exports reflect the currently active date range and unit filter.

How do I track vehicle maintenance?

Use the Maintenance section. Create recurring Intervals (service reminders by mileage, engine hours, or days) and FleetTAB flags each unit as OK, Due, or Overdue. When work is done, mark the interval serviced or log it under Services with parts, labor, cost, and attachments. See Maintenance Intervals.

Where do I download tachograph files?

On the Files page. It lists tachograph (Tacho) files by driver; filter by upload date or last activity, then download individual files or several at once as a ZIP. See Files.

How do I see how well my vehicles are used?

Run the Utilization Report under Reports. Define an operating window (days, hours, expected mileage) and FleetTAB scores each vehicle's actual use against it. See Utilization Report.

My data is not loading — what should I check?

If FleetTAB is not showing data or is displaying loading indicators that never resolve, work through the following checks:

  1. Wialon connection: Go to Settings and confirm the connection status in the Account Info section shows as connected. If it shows an error, re-enter your token.

  2. Token expiry: Check whether your token has expired in your Wialon account settings.

  3. Date range: Make sure the selected date range is not in the future and covers a period when your vehicles were active.

  4. Unit selection: If the unit filter is set to a specific unit or group, confirm that the selected units have data for the chosen period.

  5. Permissions: Your Wialon account may not have permission to access certain data types. Contact your Wialon administrator to confirm that your account has access to units, events, and reports.

  6. Browser console: Open the browser developer tools (F12) and check the Console and Network tabs for error messages. Error codes from the Wialon API (such as code 7 for access denied, or code 4 for invalid parameters) can help pinpoint the issue.

warning

If you see error code 1 in the browser console, your Wialon session is invalid. Re-enter your token in Settings to restore access.

If none of the above resolves the issue, contact support at support@theassettrack.com with the specific error message and the date range and units you were trying to load.
